Food Assistance

  • Washington County Schools are providing meals to children 18 years and younger. The child must be present to receive the meals, and they will be offering three breakfasts and lunches per child. Curbside pick-up will be available from 9 am - 12 at the following locations M-TH at the following locations:

    Monday & Wednesday:

    • David Crockett High School, 684 Old State Rte 34

    • Daniel Boone High School, 1440 Suncrest Dr

    • Jonesborough Middle School, 308 Forest Dr

    • Boones Creek Elementary School, 132 Highland Church Rd

    Tuesday & Thursday:

    • West View Elementary School, 2847 Old State Rte 34

    • South Central Elementary School, 2955 TN-107

    • Fall Branch Elementary School, 1061 Gray Station Sulphur Springs Rd

  • Johnson City Schools will deliver breakfast and lunch to children 18 years and younger via bus routes beginning at 10:30 am M - F. Meals will also
    be provided at the following locations:

    • 10:30 am: Bethany Baptist Church, Hillcrest Apartments, Rainbow Mennonite Church, Village Apartments

    • 10:30 - 12:30: Mountain City Elementary, Laurel Elementary, Shady Valley Elementary

    • 11:00 am: Doe Trailer Park, Nelson’s Chapel, Roan Creek Elementary School, Roan Creek Church

    • 11:30: Evergreen Baptist Church

  • JAMA Food Pantry is open to all Washington County residents. JAMA is on Persimmon Ridge in Jonesborough. The food pantry is available Tues 4:00 pm -7:00 pm and Thurs 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

  • Appalachia: Mission Pawsible is providing two weeks of pet food to those impacted by COVID-19 on a case-by-case basis. To get more information, visit their website here or call (423) 398-3380

Economic Assistance

  • Local Utilities

    • BridgeRidge has suspended service disconnections for electric, internet, and phone services in response to COVID-19. Visit their website or call (423) 952-5000 for more information.

  • National Utilities:

  • Vehicle payments:

  • United Way of Washington County is offering free financial counseling to those that want it. To ask for the service, visit their website or call (423) 283-8444

Safety & Support

  • Washington County Mayor Grandy issued a safer at home order, effective April 1 at 12:01 am and lasting for seven days. The safer at home order encourages people to stay in their houses unless leaving for essential activities, such as grocery shopping, seeking medical care, or working as necessary

  • For any Jonesborough town residents with food needs, transportation, connections to medical information, and any other assistance during the COVID-19 crisis, please call (423) 753-4781

  • The Tri Cities Mutual Aid Network is asking individuals to complete this survey so that the group can address community needs

  • To donate to or volunteer with the Washington County, TN division of United Way, please visit their site here

  • The Blue Plum Festival, which was scheduled to be held June 5-6, has been cancelled due to fears and uncertainty about the coronavirus. Rescheduling a smaller event in the fall is under discussion

Childcare

  • East Tennessee COVID Sitters is a group of local healthcare professional students providing free childcare and pet sitting to healthcare workers in the Tri-Cities area during COVID-19. If you are a healthcare worker who needs assistance, please fill out a request form. If you are a healthcare professional student who wants to volunteer to help, please fill out this form. Healthcare

  • Ballad Health Nurse Contact Line, available 24/7: (833) 822-5523

  • Patients must be pre-screened and pre-registered to receive coronavirus testing, and only those with the most severe symptoms will be able to get tested. Those who are concerned they may have symptoms should call the Northeast Coronavirus Information Hotline at (423) 979-4689 M-F, 8 am - 6 pm. Coronavirus testing is available at:

    • Washington County Health Department, 219 Princeton Rd, Johnson City, M-F, 1 pm - 3 pm

Mental Health

  • Frontier Health is offering telephonic and/or tele-video services for therapy, intensive outpatient programs, medication management, care coordination/case management, and peer support. Options of access care:

    • Visit their walk-in center at 208 Unaka Street, Johnson City, which is open 24/7
